Achievements are regularly asked to help research for various Family History associated television and radio programmes, including:
- ⇒ RUBY - Ruby Wax’s show on BBC1, where our researchers successfully traced back the ancestry of Ruby’s co-host Michelle Collins.
- ⇒ Revealing Secrets - Our Research Director was interviewed about the work of Achievements on Channel 4.
- ⇒ Blood Ties – Achievement’s Research Manager was involved in research for this programme, regularly appearing as the resident expert genealogist. The genealogy of several clients were researched on the show by our researchers.
- ⇒ Extraordinary Ancestors – Researchers from Achievements undertook the research into the families revealed on this Channel 4 show, which was widely acclaimed by critics and viewers.
- ⇒ Eastenders – BBC Choice held a special Eastenders Revealed show, on which Achievements were proud to reveal a complete Eastenders Family Tree diagram, showing the interrelationships between all of the characters in Eastenders at the time.
- ⇒ Working Lunch – Achievements successfully traced BBC2 presenter Rob Pittam’s ancestry.
- ⇒ Who Do You Think You Are?: We assisted with the research in this ground-breaking series.
Our Family History related Radio Broadcasts include:
- ⇒ BBC News 24: an interview regarding the guest-list for the Queen’s Golden Wedding celebrations.
- ⇒ Newsnight: discussion of whether children should take their mother or father’s surname.
- ⇒ ‘Who do you think you are?’: on the BBC Family History day, broadcasted from our medieval building open to the public. Over 100 members of the public called in asking for advice.
- ⇒ South African Radio: a phone-in on surnames for the Denis and Muffin show.
- ⇒ The Chinese State Television Network: an interview on the English Manorial System.
